HomeShaping Support for Growing Families in Illinois

Healthy Families and Children Matter. Get Involved.

Macoupin County Healthy Families Illinois Program Advisory Board is a volunteer community group that serves the Macoupin County Healthy Families Illinois Program. Healthy Families offers a program to support parents expecting their first or second child. Families can voluntarily sign onto the Healthy Families Macoupin County Program prenatally up until the first-born child is 3 months of age. Once on the program, families can participate until their first-born child reaches the age of 5. Families have the option of opting out of the voluntary program at any time during their participation. Healthy Families supports families nationwide who are expecting their first or second child by encouraging parent-child interaction, providing curriculum to strengthen family bonds and child development, conducting developmental screenings and family assessments, offering resources and referrals, and empowering families to tap into their unique strengths. Our trained Family Support Specialists work with the families to provide effective home visits, focusing on each family’s needs and their child’s development.

If you would like to get involved and make a difference in the lives of our children in Macoupin County, please contact Morgan Wheeler, Program Manager at 217-854-3223 or [email protected].
