Carissa van den Berk Clark, PhD, LCSW, is an Associate Professor of Family and Community Medicine at Saint Louis University. She received her Ph.D. in Social Welfare Policy from the Luskin School of Public Affairs at the University of California, Los Angeles, completed pre-doctoral training with a focus on veterans who are unhoused at the West Los Angeles Veterans Administration and completed postdoctoral addictions training via an NIH NIDA fellowship at Washington University Department of Psychiatry. She specializes in co-occurring substance use and trauma-related mental health disorders.  Treatments used include CBT, exposure therapy, EMDR, DBT, Mindfulness, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
